Shizuoka

Shizuoka is a not deep snow fall area generally, however, there are some ski resorts at high altitude places and inland areas. It is known to have a ski resort that opens the earliest over Japan in mid October. A feature of this area is to enjoy skiing and snowboarding by viewing Mt. Fuji, the World Heritage as well as a symbol of Japan. You also can enjoy shopping at local markets where fresh seafood is lined up from local fishing ports and also enjoy a number of beaches along the ocean. Green tea, Shizuoka Oden (hot pot), and Unagi eel from Lake Hamana are famous foods.
