Snowmobiling: Experience an exhilarating ride through the vast snowfields

Snowmobiling is one of the most popular winter activities.
Rusutsu Resort is the only place you can experience the exhilarating feeling of zooming across vast snowfields on a snowmobile. From the Standard Course where you drive around a circuit track (1-seater, 13 y/o or above) and the Long Course (1-seater, 16 y/o or above) to the Adventure Course (1-seater only, 16 y/o or above) and Long Adventure Course (1-seater only, 16 y/o or above) for more excitement, Rusutsu Resort has it all.
If you’re a beginner, you can safely enjoy snowmobiling with the help of your Instructor. The Standard Course and Long Course also offer two-seaters, so families can have fun together, too.

Snow rafting: Take an extremely exciting and thrilling ride!

Snow rafting is an activity where you slide across snowfields on a rubber boat (rafting boat) at full tilt, pulled by a snowmobile.
You’ll get a true feel for the speed as your raft slides thrillingly at every curve. Snow rafting at Rusutsu attracts a lot of fans because it’s well known for the exciting roller coaster-like ride. A big advantage of snow rafting is that you can do it together with your friends or family.
As snow may splash over you during the ride, a rental helmet and goggles are included in the price.

■Price: Adult 2,200 yen/Child (4-12 y/o) 1,650 yen *3 y/o or under with a parent or guardian can ride for free.

Dog sledding: Sledding across the snowfields with dogs

Dog sledding is an enormously popular winter activity at Rusutsu Resort.
The feeling of being at one with the dogs will be a precious experience for animal lovers. If you’re a first-timer, fear not! Your instructor will assist you, showing you how to ride. Once you’re on the sled, you will be surprised how fast it goes! The course covers a lap of a 400-meter oval track. Brace your feet at the corners and hold on tight so the cornering force doesn’t throw you off. Infants under aged two and under can ride with a parent or guardian.

Snow rambling: Experiencing the abundant nature of Rusutsu

How about a ramble around a world of white? Join a guide who knows all about Rusutsu and its nature like the back of his hand. Rusutsu Resort also offers snowfield hiking, where you’ll ramble on short skis.

Ice fishing: Catching big rainbow trout through the Ice

Ice fishing is an activity where you catch fish with lures through an opening in the ice on a frozen pond.
Typical game for ice fishing is smelt, but at Rusutsu, you can fish for big rainbow trout!
Be amazed at the size of the trout you pull out. All the rainbows you catch will be released. There’s no need to worry about the cold weather, as you can sit under a dome tent. Charges for lure and fly rental are all included in the price.
