Rusutsu is indeed Japan’s top ski resort; the World Ski Awards named Rusutsu Resort “Japan’s Best Ski Resort“ and The Westin Rusutsu Resort as “Japan’s Best Ski Hotel” for the third consecutive year.
What distinguishes Rusutsu Resort is definitely its wide range of facilities, including those that offer ultimate relaxation and luxurious accommodations. This is what makes Rusutsu the ideal luxury getaway.
A newly opened hot spring at Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention
1st July 2019 saw the opening of Hot Spring Kotobuki in the North Wing of Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention.
The men’s and women’s sections each feature a 20-meter-wide open-air bath overlooking the magnificent Shikotsu-Toya National Park. The large indoor communal baths include jacuzzis, hot-spring grottos and saunas. The glass walls surrounding the communal baths use heat-generating glass that keeps the condensation away. This means you can enjoy the beautiful scenery even when inside.
Kotobuki is a sodium hydrogen carbonate spring. Overnight guests have free access to the hot spring, and the rates for day-trip guests are 1,300 yen per adult and 650 yen per child.
A magnificent storytelling show about the Ainu adorns the street at night.
The après-ski highlight is Kamori Wonder Lights, which is one of Japan’s largest projection mapping shows. With amazing images projected onto the 50-meter-wide glass screen, this show depicts fascinating stories about Ainu and the nature of Hokkaido. The Stardust Avenue winter illumination adorns the area in front of the hotel with archways and animals made from some 250,000 lights. Why not take a walk on the snow, bathed in the light of the illuminations?
Enjoy shopping at famous brand-name stores.
One of Rusutsu Resort’s most distinctive features is its extensive collection of name-brand stores.
The North Wing of Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention plays host to stores of famous labels such as Burton, Salomon, Goldwin and Phenix. In The Westin Rusutsu Resort, you’ll find a North Face store. Since these shops carry the latest equipment, clothes and goods, simply head to the resort and buy what you need there. So there’s no need to worry about leaving anything at home!
